10 Smart Advices For Brides-to-Be, Part 2
When you are getting ready for your wedding, everyone seems to have some kind of advice. We collected several important tips to help you avoid some common mistakes that brides tend to make.
- Use the Right Timing
Some brides are afraid of the guests being late and put an earlier time on the invitation. If the ceremony starts at 5 p.m., this time should show up on the invitation. Since most of the guests realize that they need to come early, you might have a bunch of people waiting for up to an hour for the ceremony to start.
- Save Your Guests’ Money
A cash bar is not a good idea for the wedding. While you’d love to pay for all your guests’ food and drinks, sometimes you just don’t have enough money. Instead of setting up a cash bar, scale down the alcohol you have at the wedding. Settle for signature cocktails and beer kegs. There are plenty of ways to save money on alcohol without asking your guests to pay for it.
- Feed the Entertainers
When you are hiring a band or other entertainers, make sure to discuss the food. Most of the time, this clause goes into a contract. If you book an expensive venue, feeding the entertainers might be quite expensive. That’s why you need to talk to the venue owner about providing cheaper food options for the artists. Most venues offer such dinners.
- Don’t Expect a Perfect Gift
Even if you came up with a detailed registry, don’t expect to get what you’ve always dreamed of. Guests have their own understanding of what a bride should want. So be ready to get some useless stuff or even some doubles. Put your best smile on and say “thank you”.
