Wedding etiquette is hard to grasp especially when you are busy with planning thousands of details. If you want your special day to be perfect, you need to avoid some faux pas that the brides-to-be often commit. By taking advantage of this advice, you can be sure that everything goes as planned.
- Specify the Location
When creating your save-the-date cards, make sure to inform the guests about the location of your wedding. These cards are great for making sure that all the guests can come. But how can they secure the date if you don’t give them the location? Even if you live in the same city since childhood, others don’t. The traveling guests need you to specify at least the town. You can mention the venue in the invitation later.
- Choose a Convenient Date/Time
Wedding are expensive and many brides-to-be try to save money by holding the ceremony on a non-popular day of the week. Obviously, 2 p.m. on Weds day is a great time for those who want to get a cheap venue and hire a band for half the price. However, most of your guests are at work. Not everyone is ready to take a day off for your wedding.
So if you want to save money, settle for Friday or a Sunday. Remember, people work on Fridays, so don’t set the time earlier than 7 p.m. Since Monday is a business day as well, make sure the Sunday ceremony starts in the early afternoon.
- Be Consistent With Invitations
Don’t break your guests into irrational groups. If you are inviting one second cousin, you generally have to invite all the cousins you have. The same goes for the dates. While married friends are usually invited with their spouses, you can eliminate the “+1” from the invitations of the rest of the guests.
