DO: Compliment Their Work
We don’t mean raving about your eternal love for their character in the latest movie. Find good words to express your appreciation and admiration. The more formal you are, the more enjoyable your words will be to a celebrity.
DON’T: Point to Their Mistakes
“I love your work, but your act in that movie was soo strange”. This is one of the worst things you can say to a celebrity. They are criticized every day and, unless you are a professional movie critic, such an opinion will look ridiculous and definitely won’t get you an autograph.
DO: Act Cool If They Refuse to Talk To You
You don’t pay the celebrity to talk to you and you are not their friend. So why should they spend time with you? They are not obliged to do it at all. So when a celebrity refuses to talk to you, be cool about it. Screaming obscenities or being rude won’t score you any points.
DON’T: Ask Them Who They Are
You know that feeling when you see someone but can’t pinpoint where you know them from? This often happens when you meet a celebrity. Instead of coming up to them and asking who they are, ask someone else. One of the worst things you can say to a celebrity is that they are hard to recognize.
DO: Remember That the Celebrity Is Human
Even if your favorite actor plays a superhero, he or she is really a regular human being with normal feelings and emotions. Don’t expect the celebrity to always smile and act ready to conquer the world. They are human and get upset and tired just like everyone else.
