How to Become the Life of the Party, Part 1
Did you ever wonder why some people are very popular at parties while others are sitting alone with their eyes glued the phone or nursing a drink? While a lot depends on your personality, there are a few tricks every person can use to become the life of the party. Even if you are a respectable executive assistant during the weekdays, you can easily become a fun magnet on the weekends. Here is how.
- Look Good
This is the first and the most important step that can’t be overlooked. You always have to look clean and stylish. Unmanaged beard or broken nails won’t do you a good service. The same goes for wrinkled skirts and old socks. In order to become the life of the party, you need to look 100% cool. This is not hard to achieve. Even if you worry about some aspects of your body or face, a clean look and fashionable clothes can make you forget about it in a flash. Good clothes open all doors, remember this truth.
- Buy Food and Alcohol
Coming to a party empty handed is a bad idea. Always. Even if it’s a dinner event that doesn’t require you to bring anything, a bottle of wine or a cake can score you the highest points. Don’t be a cheapskate and spend some money on good alcohol. All hosts love the people, who bring extra food and alcohol to their parties.
- Use the Power of Three
One of the simplest ways to get people to like you is to talk. Instead of struggling to find the words, go on and mingle. Say a few phrases and go on to the next person. Then come back and introduce one of them to another. Try to have a conversation with at least two people at one time. Three people always have an easier time finding something to talk about than two.
