8 Believable Excuses for Not Going to a Party, Part 1

Most of the time, people are excited about being invited to a party. However, sometimes you just don’t feel like going. The real reasons can be so simple. You don’t want to see the people there. You want to spend the evening doing something more exciting. You feel as if you need to be alone.

  1. You Already Have Plans

This excuse works only if you use it the minute you were invited. Make sure the plans you talk about don’t have anything to do with having fun. You might have promised your dad to fix the leaking roof or made plans with your mom to mow the lawn and arrange a yard sale. Whatever it is, the plans have to be solid, boring, and take a long time to complete.

  1. You Don’t Have The Energy

Here is another quick excuse. Even if the party is next week, you need to come up with some plans right before this, that can make you feel fatigued. You may be planning to write a long research paper, complete a complicated project or go hiking. If someone is inviting you to join the party today, you can always say that you are feeling a little sick.

  1. You Don’t Have Money

This is a good excuse for parties that involve the guests paying for something. The lack of money is a solid excuse that works every time.
