Should You Invite Children to Your Wedding
When you are planning a wedding, children as guests are probably the last thing you think about. However, they should be the first ones on your list of invites or shouldn’t be there at all. While girls in white dresses throwing rose petals are an adorable image that looks perfect on wedding pictures, the reality is often much less cute. Small children can cause all types of trouble during a wedding unless you make the right preparations.
Let’s face it, weddings are boring for the children. Listening to “dull” words, watching the adults dancing and eating is not exactly the way most kids would like to spend their free afternoon. In order to entertain themselves, children tend to run around, squealing and screaming, which is far from what people want at their weddings. That’s why you need to ask yourself a question. Should I invite children to my wedding?
If you say no, be ready that some of your friends will not attend since they might not have a chance to leave their kids with relatives or nannies. But if you say “yes”, you need to brace yourself for some chaos. In order to minimize the effect, you can hire separate entertainers for children to keep them busy and allow for some extra space at the venue so the kids can run around without bothering the adults.
Little snacks and toys can do wonders for keeping kids quiet at the church while balloons and bouncy castles can keep them busy during the reception. While it’s up to the parents to tend to their children during a wedding, you must make as many preparations as possible to avoid a fiasco. After all, it’s your wedding day and you’d rather remember the vows, the dancing, and the cake instead of screaming kids, broken glasses, and spilled wine.
