The Saxophone quartet is a group of talented saxophonists who offers great performances of their own interpretations of new songs and saxophone classics. The group consists of RUTH VELTEN (SOPRANO SAXOPHONe), ALEXANDER DOROSHKEVICH (ALTO SAXOPHONE), ADRIAN TULLY (TENOR SAXOPHONE), and ANNEGRET SCHMIEDL (BARITONE SAXOPHONE). They are based in Berlin, but they came from Belarus, Australia and Germany.
Their skill has brought them to various parts of the world such in Japan, Nigeria, Russia, Mexico, Algeria, Ireland, and others. They’ve featured in various TV Shows, concerts, and festivals such as ‘Stars of tomorrow’, Concertos with orchestra in the Philharmonie Berlin, Portrait concert Sofia Gubaidulina at Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Chamber music recital – Gasteig Munich, Prize winners concert of the German Music Competition – Philharmonie Essen, and Concert and live radio broadcast (Radio 4 Netherlands) from the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. They’ve also won awards such as German Music Competition, Salieri-Zinetti Chamber Music Competition, Bergamo Classic Music Award, Chamber Music Competition Karlsruhe, International Competition for Contemporary Music Krakow, and Newcomer Ensemble of Jeunesses Musicales Germany. They have two CDs released named SONIC.ART / PHILIP GLASS & MICHAEL NYMAN, and SONIC.ART SAXOPHONE QUARTET.
