How to Plan A Great Dinner Party. Part 1
Dinner parties can be fun and very enjoyable for the guests. However, the party planners have their hands full with worries. If you feel as if you don’t have what it takes to throw a smashing dinner event, you need to learn a few tips for everything to go smoothly. Let’s take a look.
- Make the Right Invitations
We are not talking about creating nice invitation cards. Your main goal is to invite a group of people that can have fun together. Since the most important entertainment at a dinner party is conversation, you need to make sure it flows smoothly. If you think that inviting a couple of strangers might spice up the party, make sure you have at least a few common interests and seat them beside yourself.
- Ask About the Limitations
If you don’t want your guests to stay hungry, you need to find out whether they need gluten-free food or start itching and scratching after eating an orange or a strawberry. When sending out the invitations, make sure they RSVP with a list of foods they can’t eat. Meanwhile, when planning a menu, try to avoid the most common allergy triggers, such as peanuts and citrus fruits.
- Plan the Plates
Do you have enough tableware and chairs to accommodate all the 20 guests you’ve invited? Make sure to plan the setting at least a week in advance, so you don’t have to run around borrowing chairs from your neighbors the day before the party.
- Delegate
Don’t try to do everything yourself. Ask the close friends you are inviting to help you with the setting, the dishes, the cleaning, and etc. A couple of friends can come early to do some slicing, mixing, and even baking.
