When you ae planning a party, you need to consider so many things, you might get lost. Some people give up during the planning stage and opt for something simple. Whether you are thinking of a complicated theme party or just a BBQ outing with your closest friends, you need to plan the menu. Planning a party menu is far from being straightforward. We would like to offer you a few tips to make the process easier.

  1. The Food Should Suit The Season

The season should dictate the type of food you are planning to serve. If it’s hot outside, no one will appreciate the hot stew and plenty of potatoes or pasta. Think about something light, such as salads, fruits, and grilled fish and meat. Plenty of greens is a great idea while hamburgers and French fries should be left for a colder season.

The overall rule for the season food is to make more during the winter and less during the summer. The guests tend to consume much less food when it’s hot outside. The vice versa rule is valid for the non-alcoholic drinks. Serve more in the summer and less in the winter.

  1. The Main Dish Should Make Your Life Easier

Instead of going crazy about choosing the best dishes out of a huge list, focus on the main dish. The main dish should dictate the rest of the food you put on the table. Balance the main dish with the side dishes. If you are serving grilled chicken, light salads can do the trick. If you have a hearty stew coming, you need to think about some roasted meat.

Avoid serving too much food. Some people believe that they must have the soup, the salad, the meat, the side dishes, and the dessert. Unless you are having a full-blown dinner party, cut the list in half.
