7 Mistakes to Avoid When Planning an Outdoor Event, Part 2
We continue helping you avoid common mistakes people make when planning an outdoor party. Outdoor events are only fun when they are planned carefully.
- Forgetting to Buy Enough Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Plenty of alcohol is great for any party but only if you have enough water available. When it’s hot out, people are much more affected by the alcohol. Meanwhile, they feel very thirsty and quenching their thirst with champagne is a bad idea. Stock up on water, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic beverages. Make sure to have some ice ready as well.
- Overlooking the Restrooms
If you fail to provide the clean and accessible restrooms to your guests, the party can turn into a disaster. When searching for a place to throw an outdoor soiree, the restrooms should be the first thing you pay attention to.
No restrooms mean no party. Someone taking a leak behind a tree is not what you want to see at your event. Meanwhile, it might be illegal.
- Not Arranging the Lights
If you are planning for your party to continue into the evening time, you need to think about the lights. Partying in the dark is not just boring. It can be outright dangerous. If there is no electricity nearby, consider bringing at least some candles. Just be sure to follow fire safety rules. Check out if you can safely make a bonfire. It could be a great light and heat source.
- Not Brining Enough Chairs
Outdoor events usually mean that you have to plan for more people than you invited. Someone may bring an unexpected date while a neighbor might drop in to check out your party. Always make sure you have extra sitting arrangements to accommodate a couple of unexpected guests.
