Sonia is an Emmy Award Winning Journalist. Aside from being a journalist, she is also an emcee and yoga instructor. She works for an ABC-affilliate WFAA-TV as a Health & Medical Correspondent, but she can also fill up the anchor desk. She has also worked for various TV stations in San Diego, Chicago, Waco, and College Station, sometimes shooting and editing her own stories. Sonia also has done some international covers like the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands and also reported on war crimes in Africa and the Balkans. And the lists goes on and one. Sonia graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism with a Master of Science in Journalism. She also received a Master of Legal Studies from Northwestern University’s prestigious law school. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Halo House Foundation, the Houston Advisory Council for the Tahirih Justice Center, multiple committees for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Asian Leadership Council for the Houston Symphony.
